Authority

American author and business consultant Ken Blanchard said,
"The key to successful leadership today is influence, not authority.”
Today's work environment is complex and dynamic, and effective leaders must be able to influence people to achieve their goals. Authority can only take a leader so far, but influence enables a leader to create lasting change and motivate their team to work towards a common goal.
A clear example of this is a coach on a sports team. A coach may have the authority to make decisions, but it's their influence that inspires their team to work together and achieve success. By understanding each player's strengths and weaknesses and providing guidance and support, a coach can influence their team to perform at their best and win the game.
